Hello!, I cannot install in my hard disk (SAMSUNG 3.2 GB). try with FAT and NTFS but nothing. the error is the following: cannot copy some archives in the installation process. the hard disk does not have errors. the installation CD does not have errors. try to install it with other cd players but nothing.
which is the problem?

I've had problems installing NT 4.0 on partitions larger than 2048Mb.
I use Partition Magic to resize the partition after I install service pack 6a.

Alejandro:
NT can install as fat16 upto 4Gig; also as ntfs upto 4Gig max - if partiton is created during setup. There are ways to have NT boot-partition (where the system files - the OS itself - reside) over 4Gig if wanting it as ntfs.
Your problem s described:
This could be a RAM problem. NT is very picky/particular about RAM quality/specifications etc.
Can you try a known good stick of RAM - minimum of 32 Meg; preferably 64Meg. If using two or more sticks ensure they are same specification and quality.
A possible workaround (sometimes it works, sometimes not):
Using a DOS/'9x boot-disk, create a smallish c: fat16 (active) Primary partition - say around 250Meg.
Using a DOS/'9x boot-disk with CDROM support copy the i386 to the C: partition; run NT setup from there.
You can either install (using the i386 source in c: ) a basic/minimum version of NT to c: (and apply any service pack you intend to use); then use Disk Admin. to partition/format the balance of the drive and then install a second version there. Or you can install immediately to the Extended partition space using the i386 source in c: ).
During setup NT will offer you the choice of where to put it and also to partition/format the intended space. (fa16/ntfs).
Leave C: as fat16 regardless.
c:\i386\winnt /b /x /s:c:\i386
is the command to use to install from c: location.
/b = floppyless installation;
/x = make no setup floppies;
/s: = location of winnt.exe - in this case /s: = c:\i386Fdisk/format tutorial - if needed...

Would be wise to have a data area in the Extended partition - thus allowing you to re-install NT (even to reformat its partition) without affecting data areas. Unless you want/need ntfs perhaps stay with fat16 for data?
Also ensure that all virus utils in the bios area are disabled; not likely to be the cause of your present problem, but wise to check anyway - as there are (other) problems that 'can' arise if virus utils are running during NT setup.
