I want to instal windows nt 4 service pack 3 to be able to install option pack 4 so I will be able to use the personal web server to learn asp. when i try to install service pack 3 I get error message:
the winspool.drvfile is linked to missing export ntdll.dll ntfscontrol file.

I don't know what to do, can somebody help?
I use internet explorer 5.

just go straight to SP4. let us know if you get the same error then

Just go straight to SP6a.

It sounds like ntdll.dll is missing. Have you got a backup?

You could try installing WinNT to another directory (WINNT2 for example - not over your original installation) and then copying ntdll.dll from WINNT2\System32 to WINNT\System32 (so long as the two installations are running the same service pack).
