I upgraded to NT Workstation 4.0 Service Pack 6a with no problem. Internet Explorer 5.50 works fine with it over a DSL connection. Then I tried to upgrade to IE6 to run QuickBooks 2003 Pro. IE6 seemed to install OK, but I ran into two problems when I restarted the computer:
First, I got a Dr. Watson application error in loadqm.exe: "Access violation (0xc0000005), address 0x77f88d33." What the heck does that mean?
Second, when I tried to open IE6, the program got hung up on a white screen. I closed it and right-clicked the IE icon and opened Properties. Everything seemed OK until I clicked on the Connections tab. I immediately got an error message: "Control Panel. An error occurred while Windows was working with the Control Panel file c:\WINNT\Sytem32\INETCPL.CPL" Huh??
Tried installing IE6 twice and re-nstalled NT 4.0 SP6a twice and the same thing happened. Downgraded to 5.50 and it runs fine again.
Anybody know what's going on and how to fix it??
Can I run QuickBooks 2003 Pro with IE 5.50 and avoid the IE6 problem?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
