Problem installing 3Com NIC

I am having a little difficulty install my NIC in my computer. I am running Windows NT 4.0 workstation service pack 6. I am trying to install a 3Com 3C509B-Combo card (it is an ISA card). I got it installed (as far as teh drivers go), However, when I boot I notice is says something when the BIOS screen is up, something about a conflict (it goes away so fast I can't read it clearly). Also, when I look at the event viewer I see a red X and an error message: "Elnk35 has encounterd a conflict in resources and could not load. I am assuming that I have an IRQ conflict with another device. I am not used to Windows NT (there is now device manager) I have a utility that istalled with my NIC thelets you configure the card, and there is an IRQ setting, I am not sure if I change the IRQ if it would solve this problem what do you think?
