Subject: PnP ISA Enabler driver not working/installed
Comment:

I have a pnp isa modem, and NT 4 workstation (SP3) cannot detect it since the PnP ISA Enabler Driver is not working/installed and hence won't start in Devices.
I can't seem to add it from the pnpisa directory on the NT cd and I don't know what to do next!!

You can enable PnP ISA enabler or PnP services in Control Panel. The only thing that you need is to add a COM port(in CP Ports) then reboot. Next, make sure that you have genuine drivers for your modem. Add the modem and install it on this new COM port. If the modem works that's fine, otherwise go to NT Diagnostics and check Resources. Go back and assign your modem to a free resources(IRQ and I/O). You'll enjoy NT flexibility, even with Winmodems. There're a lot of possibilities here. Good luck

Another way is to put your NT cd in the system go to \drvlib\pnpisa\x86

right click on pnpisa.inf and install

the should ask to reboot your system and should pick up the modem
