Every Time I try to backup via the NT4 Backing up software it fails and I get this mesasage:

Tape device reported an error on a request to write a file mark to tape.

Error reported:
Unrecognizable data.

I checked the tape drive and it is: HP C7537A

I am using SONY DDS-2

Can you format the tape? Can you backup a single file? Have you checked that the tape unit supports dds-2?
