Hi

We have a NT server 4 with SP6a and when I reboot the machine I get the following window popping up after login as adminitrator.

pds.exe - unable to locate DLL

The dynamic link library pds.dll could not be found in the specific path C:\WINNT\System32\cba;.;C:\winnt\system32;c:\winnt\system;c:\winnt;c:\winnt\system32;c:\winnt;%APPath%\share

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ken

IntelŪ LANDeskŪ Management Suite 6.
Last Known Issues

Coexistence issue with Symantec's Norton AntiVirus* Corporate Edition 7.0x There's a coexistence issue between IntelŪ

LANDeskŪ Management Suite v6.2, 6.3/Server Manager v6.0x and Symantec's Norton AntiVirus* Corporation Edition v7.0x. You can follow one of two different procedures to correct this issue.

A. In the case where neither product has yet been installed, do this:

Copy the NAV CD to a server from which you can install it.
Find the SERVER.INF file and modify it as follows:

Note: These changes are necessary to install the PDS services correctly.

Step 1: Replace these lines in the [ServerFiles] section:

server\winnt\,%SYS_PATH%\cba\,pds.dll,{DEST_ABSPATH}{UPDATE_PDS}

server\winnt\,%SYS_PATH%\cba\,nts.dll,{DEST_ABSPATH}{UPDATE_PDS}

server\winnt\,%SYS_PATH%\cba\,cba.dll,{DEST_ABSPATH}{UPDATE_PDS}

With these lines:

server\winnt\,%SYS_PATH%\,pds.dll,{DEST_ABSPATH}{UPDATE_PDS}

server\winnt\,%SYS_PATH%\,nts.dll,{DEST_ABSPATH}{UPDATE_PDS}

server\winnt\,%SYS_PATH%\,cba.dll,{DEST_ABSPATH}{UPDATE_PDS}

Step 2: Add these lines to the [ServerRegistry] and [ServerDeleteRegistry] sections:

HKLM,Software\Intel\LANDesk\AMS2\Installed\Files,%SYS_PATH%\pds.dll,REG_MULTI_SZ,LDVP_CBA,0,{PRESERVE}

HKLM,Software\Intel\LANDesk\AMS2\Installed\Files,%SYS_PATH%\nts.dll,REG_MULTI_SZ,LDVP_CBA,0,{PRESERVE}

HKLM,Software\Intel\LANDesk\AMS2\Installed\Files,%SYS_PATH%\cba.dll,REG_MULTI_SZ,LDVP_CBA,0,{PRESERVE}

Install Norton AntiVirus Corporation Edition v7.0x.
Finally, install either Intel LANDesk Management Suite v6.2/6.3 or Intel LANDesk Server Manager v6.0x.

B. In the case where Norton AntiVirus Corporation Edition v7.0x is already installed, do this:

Copy the pds.dll, nts.dll, and cba.dll files found in the \winnt\system32\cba directory to the \winnt\system32\ directory.
Delete the pds.dll, nts.dll, and cba.dll files found in the \winnt\system32\cba directory. Note: Norton AntiVirus will use the files from the \winnt\system32 directory.
Install either Intel LANDesk Management Suite v6.2/6.3 or Intel LANDesk Server Manager v6.0x.
