Comment: I am helping my wife with a network issue, so here goes. The PDC has gone down, and W2K machines will not logon thru the BDC. 95 and 98 machines are able to logon so I know the BDC is working. I am guessing this is some sort of security issue when dealing with two NT based machines. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Reply: (edit)not yet, the server is currently being used by students presenting Power Point presentations for end of year projects. She was hesitant to start the promotion process while the students were accessing data. Do you think the promotion to PDC will help? Thanks for the reply.

Reply: (edit)We can now log on W2k machines to the network thru the BDC. The Netbeui protocol was not previously used in this network when the PDC was up and there were no problems. But when the PDC went down W2k machines and some other isolated machines could not logon thru the BDC. We added the NetBeui protocol and wah-lah. Now the W2k machines are able to logon thru the BDC. Weird!
