Hi,
I am trying to remote control a winnt box via PC Anywhere 9, but cannot seem to access it. The PC dials in fine, connects but then the black PC anywhere screen comes up on the PC trying to dial in and it stops...
The PC I am dialing into shows nothing in the "waiting for host" window, and gives no indication that anything is happening.
I would almost say that its an authentication problem, but I have even tried allow ANYONE access, and no luck.
I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of...
- from reinstalled all PC Anywhere, RAS service, Modem Drivers
- Reconigured RAS several times
- Set PCA access to allow anyone
- Set encryption to NONE
- Used both generic and vendor modem driversNothing has had any success. I was able to connect once, but despite 20-30 other attempts, no luck.
The modem being used on the NT box is a fairly old Tasmanian Devil 56k, probably one of the first to come out. So Im maybe thinking that it maybe beacause the PC's I am dialling in with are using V90, does anybody know if that can cause problems?
ANY other ideas would be much appreciated, as I am at wits end!! Used all my IT knowledge, and troubleshooting skills and hit a dead end!
Thanks!

I have seen this several times, in various configurations. Some things to try. These have all worked for me in various situations
1) Reboot the remote Box
2) Change Screen resolution on remote box
3) Change Screen colour depth on remote box
4) Run Live update against PC anywhere.Hope these help
