Comment:

I am running a novell 4.11 server with Windows NT workstations. I have a DSL modem connected to the hub and no problem with all workstations getting online. The question that I have is how could I use PC Anywhere on a workstation so that I can connect to a specific workstation. I try to connect from home with the correct IP address but I think PC Anywhere is stopping at the DSL modem and not continueing on into the network where the host is. Any ideas.

If you the workstations have a public IP address then you should be able to access them from home. However, you may not be able to access them if the port that PC Anywhere is using is being blocked (like from a router). Also make sure that PC Anywhere is configured correctly on the workstation.

More Info.
I have configured a couple of different routers (mostly Linksys DSL routers) and there is an option that if someone from the outside (Internet) tries to access the router IP address over a specific port (like the http protocol), you can redirect that request to a machine on your private network using one of your private IP addresses (that might be your web server, for instance) and in this case, your PC anywhere server. Look around on your router configuration... see ya

The workstations DO NOT have a public IP address so I guess the only way for this to work is get a DSL router. Is that correct.
