Comment:

I'm hardware developper and need a workstation with Windows 98, Windows NT & Linux to make the driver for our IO cards. I create four partitions on my disk :
- Windows NT Partition
- Windows 98 Partition
- Linux Partition
- Extended partion (dos type)

Windows NT can restart correctly only if i kill the Extended partition. Why ? Can anyone help me ?

Excuse me for the mistake in english but it's a foreign language for me.

The problem could simply be, that the partition is affecting where the boot.ini file points.

If you give more details, on which partition you have installed NT, and the partitions of that drive, maybe I can shed some more light

I give you more details from my problem :

- Windows NT Partition (track 1-341)
- Windows 98 Partition (track 342-682)
- Linux Partition (track 683-1023)
- Extended partion (dos type)(track 1024-1869)
Windows NT can restart correctly only if i kill the Extended partition.
I suppose the problem is the track number who are greater than 1024.

Excuse me for the mistake in english but it's a foreign language for me.

To manage this situation you can use Partition Magic that can manage partition of your hard disk (resize, move, create, delete, etc) and manage your multiboot. Or, you can use MasterBooter to manage your multiboot
