I am trying to talk to an MP3 player via the
parallel port using the s/w package supplied but so far with no success. Apparantly, the player and it's software require ECP mode in order to communicate. I have set ECP in the PC (IBM Thinkpad 600E) BIOS but still no success. Do I need to do anything under NT to allow ECP mode to operate e.g. is there an ECP mode driver that I need to install or do I need to configure an existing driver ? Do I need to remove standard printer drivers from LPT1 in order to be able to use ECP to the MP3 player? Help please from anyone.

I had some difficulty operating a removable media disk drive through the Parallel Port. It either EPP or ECP mode for the port. The typical problem was the IRQ sharing with my other TWO printers... What sort of symptoms are you coming up with?
