Reply: (edit)I have come across problems like this before and think it may be one of two things. 1. Go to Control Panel->Mail and delete the Outlook profile then recreate it. 2. The actual 'inbox' has too many messages in it. If this might be the case try getting access to another PC with more RAM fitted. Create a basic Outlook profile i.e. no personal address book, no personal folders etc. Close down as many other programs as possible and then try starting Outlook. Be patient and give it plenty of time to open the mail box. If you suceed in opening the mailbox create some new message folders and move messages out of the inbox. The overall size of the mailbox doesn't change much but Outlook seems to prefer it when the inbox has few messages in it. Try to keep the number of messages in the inbox as low as possible in the future.
