Hi,

I have just set up a Win 2000 server with Exchange 5.5 for Outlook Web Access. I am fairly new to Proxy's and Firewalls so this is going to seem like a dumb question I'm sure, but...
I have Outlook Web Access working from within our company (obviously) but when I try to access the server from home it says page cannot be found. We have a Checkpoint firewall and Proxy Server 2.0. Do I need to change something on one or both of these machines? I'm in the dark about the setup of these machines as well. Any help at all would be really appreciated - I need to get this working!! Thank you.

In order to access the proxy server in the office you will need to install proxy client at home. Also make sure that you have set your dial in permissions corrections.

It could happen simply because of the setting in either your web server or your proxy server. you might have forgotten to grant the requeired permissions in proxy server, or your page may have not been in the correct folder to be open to the outer world. Disable the proxy server and then try to get access to the page from home, if still you can not see the page, review the page setting in the web server.

Hey Sarah,
it may sound a bit salty, but your company should send you to an administration course.
What for is the firewall? To block everything coming from outside (internet) to
the inside (lan) !
You have to open a hole in the firewall to get access from the outside (your
home) to the inside.
If the desired access is only concerning email, that means ports 25, 110
(+ exchange specific) the hole in the firewall won't be too big.
You'll have to get into the configuration of your checkpoint firewall and open
step by step some ports.
What are the results if you ping / tracert from home (outside) to your firewall / your lan ?

I use Microsoft products where i cannot avoid them (Office, desktop OS), but the most server things I do with Linux.
