Reply: (edit)For starters change your server service setting to max throughput for netw apps. change your swapfile-size to appr. 2.5 times physical RAM. Notes is notorious for consuming RAM. We had this experience with 4.6 and still with 5.0 Our Notes server uses ( when just started from a reboot ) appr. 120MB of RAM extra while doing nothing.

Reply: (edit)Virtual memory in default installation is RAM + 12 in your case becomes 2268. Another thing are you using other utilities such as Norton Antivirus, it so it needs tuning (ussualy guidance comes with the s/w)

Reply: (edit)let me know if i'm wrong but i believe 2.5 times ram is for 95/98 , 1 times for servee, 1 times +12mb for workstation, and that to oversize a swapfile for nt is counter-productive, but as i know the rule but not the reason i'd be interested to know if this is not the case. i've sent you a link for somewhere that may help.

Reply: (edit)One other thing to check (this happened to us and I'm embarrassed to admit how long it took to figure out) is to make sure that the permissions on the root directory of the drive which has the swap file gives full access to the System account. Otherwise the system can't even use the swap file.

Reply: (edit)Hi, I have 256 mb of sdram in my computer and i'm still getting low system resource errrors message. I went into msconfig and took the check mark from all boxes but explorer, systray a only left what needed to run the computer. I then rebooted the resource jumped to 97 percent. But when i'm online the memory sinks back down to 65 and keeps dropping with nothing opened. How can I boost my memory I don't even think i'm using the full 256 capacity. Help
