Subject: Out of Space when Users print in NT4
Comment:

We have an NT4 computer lab with students that have accounts and are having a problem printing to a DeskJet 890c. Administrators can print fine, but when users try to print (this printer is on the network on a JetDirect port) an 'Out of Disk Space Error' appears on the server (not the workstation the user is printing from). I've tried giving permissions to the spool directory on the server and access to the proper files needed but still have had no luck. Anyone know where the Out of Disk Space error is coming from? I suspect it's a directory on the server that normal users do not have write privileges... But I can't find it, any suggestions?

The spooler uses disk space (hard drive) when it spools the print job. Find where the spoolerss file is located and make sure that partition has plenty of free disk space, at least 200MB. If not, delete some of the necessary files. You may also want to increase the size of your page file.

Hallo

I have the same problem but mine is that the printer is connected direct to the PC. I tried to print from Wordperfect and still says out of memory and is only this program running. I have more than 200 mb on my hard drive which is free.

Thanks
Shady
