Hello, After a recent software installation, I have begun receiving the error message "ordinal 654 can not be located in the dynamic link library SHELL32.DLL". This message is display whenever I try to execute any program. It occurs rapidly during the boot process and many services/programs fail as a result. I have searched the internet and read several purposed solutions from replacing the COMDLG32.Dll file to replacing the Shell32.DLL file from where I update from SP5. Does anyone have comment or suggestion as to what will fix my problem. Thanks in advance...

You could try installing SP6a which should update the file. If that's not a possibility, have you done a find for all copies of shell32.dll? Try that and check the version numbers of all copies and make sure a valid MS copy is in \WINNT\System32
You could also extract a copy of the file from the NT4 install CD and then re apply SP5.
