I'm a Microsoft guy, not IBM then I ask you this question... hoping to have an answer... I have on my WorkStation Windows NT4 Sp6a, the client "IBM Client Access Express V4R5M0" with the service pack SF66513 & SF67276. With some Access97 data bases, we have requests which go directly on AS/400 while passing by ODBC (client access express) with the login and the password coded in the connector. All functions very well of Tuesday at Friday. But Monday morning, that does not function. It should be noted that AS/400 was stopped Weekend (IPL) as well as the destruction of SQLPackage. It seems necessary, Monday morning, of having this to validate via Windows Popup "Client Access Express" Because if I sendings in coding, Access97 turns over me not an error recognized. But it is clear that if I reach at least once the data base DB2 of AS/400 with the popup Client Access Express when I enter the login and the password at least once. NOW, I can use the Access97 requests directly on AS/400 with the login and the password coded in connector ODBC. And that functions well !! I believe that AS/400 preserves "Cache" on the Server.
