How do you make the num lock stay on with NT? I have set the bios to on however, NT comes behind me turing it back off. Does anybody else have this problem or noticed it? Please advise or sympathize.

Log in and when you are at your desktop set numlock state to on, and then press CTRL+ALT+DEL and choose Logoff to log off. This procedure permanently saves the NumLock key state.

To change the default state of the NUMLOCK key in NT, you have to edit the registry.
1. Open your registry and find the key below.
2. Change the value of 'InitialKeyboardIndicators' to either '0' for off, or '2' for on.
Note: This change will affect all users but value can also be changed on a user basis by modifying [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard] and the same registry key.
Key: [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard] Value Name: InitialKeyboardIndicators Data Type: REG_SZ Data: 0 = NUMLOCK off, 2 = NUMLOCK on

Good luck!

I tried making the changes in the registry but still no can do ! it still turns off. do you have any other ideas?
There is a couple of registry keys that can be changed. The first one above will turn the NUMLOCK on before logon but will shut off after. The one you want to change is: HKEY_CURRENT_USERS\Control Panel\Keyboard InitialKeyboardIndicators:REG_SZ
As above 0=off 2=on, if previous suggestion doesn't work use hkey_CURRENT_users. This is also nice if you work on a PC with access restrictions because you are usually able to edit the registry under your USER profile. Hope this helps.
I have tried all the suggestion above, but NumLock is still off. Any suggestions?
