NTFS and FAT32 working together

I am running NT Workstation 4.0 with NTFS partitions. Now I have an employee who needs the ability to take their work home. Need to note that their home system is Windows 98. Instead of getting away with zip disks, they have extremely large graphic presentations. So I went and purchased a portable hard drive system. Now the new hard drive is detected when booting to DOS, however, when booting to WinNT it will not detect the FAT32 partition. Is there anyway to make WinNT see the FAT32 harddrive, or should I just take the employees machine and convert it to WinNT? Wondering if I reinstall Winnt on the office workstation with a FAT32 partition, will that do the trick?

Another way is to format the portable hard drive using fat16/vfat which NT and win9x (and should you imagine it Win3.x) will both see no problem. Using the Win98 machine, and I forget the fdisk question, fdisk the portable hard drive so that it does not use large disk support and then format it. This I believe will format the disk using fat16/vfat. Alternatively using the NT disk utilities you can do the same.
Good luck.
