Hi everyone on this forums.
I would like to repair pc at my new workplace. It hasn't been turned on for years, is what my boss told me.
I think it's run by win NT4.0 os...when i try to turn it on, it says the following:
"NTDETECT 4.0 is inspecting your hardware configuration"
and a half of second after that new message appears:
"NTDETECT failed"I do not have any Windows instalation cds...nor boot disks or emergency repair disks.
What can i do run that machine? It would be great if i could check my mail and play solitaire all the day :)Thank you for your answers. Please excuse my poor English...

You really need the NT CD - although if the i386 happens to be present on the drive... you may be able to run a repair routine from there; or a parallel installation routine.
(NT CDs can be found on many clearance sites, computer fairs etc., for very little cash these days...)
If you can slave this drive to another working system and inspect the drive, you may be to determine if the i386 exists - or not...
If you cannot repair this system (no CD or i386 on the drive etc.) and "any" OS will do for you... thenm with specifications as posted, you could install/run '98SE (even ME - but I wouldn't...); also W2K will go in OK - but a little more RAM would be wise.
And your English is just fine...; probably it's a lot better than my version of your native language would be...
