Comment:

My customer made a database backup in Enterprise Manager 7 using
streamer tape.
Then he wanted to read that copy in NTBACKUP, but he only managed to
read the headers of those backups. It seemed like they were empty.
Maybe it is ok, that we can't restore backups made in Enterprise
Manager using Ntbackup application.
Can someone please confirm this.

If memory serves me right, NT backup produced it's own database for backups. I seem to remember that at some point these databases became standard M$ Jet DB's but I can't remember at what point. I KNOW that NT backup could not see a Seagate Backup nor an Arcserve backup but I can stand correction if anyone knows better.

I received a confirmation that Ntbackup cannot read backups from MS SQL 7.
Those are two different backups methods.
MS SQL is to backup databases only, while Ntbackup is rather to backup whole systems or single files, although database files can be backuped too.
