Subject: NT4SRV PDC and building a BDC
Comment:

Can someone point me in the right direction when setting up a BDC, how does one get the BDC to sync up with the PDC (directories etc) and adjust the update times etc, any help would be appreciated.
Cheers Grant

Just build the BDC and join the domain the PDC is on - the PDC will know it's a BDC and make updates automatically. Most updates time settings need to be changed in the registry I believe.

The standard pulse or timeframe for syncronization between a PDC & BDC is 15 minutes by default. Therefore the SAM database will be checked on the BDC against the actual PDC and updated accordingly automatically. Directory replication however is manually setup.
Any time alterations with respect to syncronization between the servers is, as my collegue explained, handled in the registry.

Hope that clarifies the issue for you.

Pete
