My office has a NT4.0 Server, 3Com Lan Modem connetct to the ISP, and 5 workstations connected...
We DHCP from the LanModem, the server is static IP...
GW is correctly established to the LanModem then the outside DNS is setup on the server as the second DNS...
All other computers access the Inet just fine...
IE configuration is ok...
Not sure what else I can check...
Any ideas, thoughts???
Thanx
Steve

Make sure you have the correct modem drivers. I've had that problem before. Other than that just go through everything with a fine toothed come. I've misstyped a subnet mask before and took me hours to figure out.

Shelby...
I think you hit it...without realizing it...
I think it's the subnet mask...I'm at home, 7:30 pm, replying to your post and I think I remember the server subnet as 255.255.255.24?...
Now, if my server IP is out of the subnet range, it won't contact the server because the GW, at 192.168.1.1 would be out of the range...
And if the DHCP is subnetted at Class C, then all the other computers would see the GW and hit the LanModem and go out like normal...
THANX!!!
Steve
