NT4.0 Hangs during startup

Windows NT4 workstation hangs during startup at the same point each time:
OS Loader V4.00 . press spacebar NOW to invoke last etc....
Don't know what to do. I'm running it on a Toshiba Satellite laptop - last thing I did before this happened was to use the reset button in the side of the laptop.
Any ideas as how to remedy this situation would be sweet. Thanks
