I have problems with two NT4 Workstations SP6. The Spooler process takes 100% CPU and the computer is very slow. After app 3 seconds it goes down to 0 % and after app 3 sec it goes to 100% - just like a squarewawe. The problems seems to have been started when we changed network environment from Netware3.11 to Netware5 or when we installed utility to connect to Axisprinters. I dont want to reinstall the computers.
I have disabled IPX and removed all old printers in the register in one computer but that wont help. When I close the service Spooler then the computer goes like normal app 0% CPU.

1. Try to stop and restart the spooler service from the cp | services. If this works then ok.

2. Try shutting programs (applications such as filemaker pro etc.) one at a time while monitoring performance.

Good luck.

One computer is HP Vectra PII 266, 128 MbRam, 4.0 Gb disk (500 free). The other is Compaq, PII 400, 128 MbRam, 10 Gb disk.
I dont have any programs going while the CPU goes 100 %. When I stop the Spooler process the CPU goes 0% when I restart it goes 100% just like a squarewawe. I just start the machine and log in to the network without starting any program. I use the latest Novell Client and I have servicepack 6.
