Subject: Nt4 slow??
OS: NT4 SP6
CPU/Ram: 2x P3 Xeon 1Ghz / 1Gb Ram
Comment:
Dear all,

I have a PDC: Compaq Proliant with 2 proc P3Xeon 1Ghz. Memory 1 Ghz.
OS: NT4 SP6
Role:
Exchange 5.5 server
Data sharing.

A BDC with the same spec.
Role:
SQL server.

Another BDC
Role:
OWA (outlook web access) server.

2 weeks ago, I use novell 4.11 for file sharing. The network seem ok until I have motherboard crash on the novell server and moved all data into NT4 PDC.

After migration, my network seem awfully slow. The user access to share drive & application are painful.
Sometimes the MS Outlook also display a delay occur between Outlook & MS Exchange.

This never done when I still use Novell as the file server.

Any suggestion?
Seem like my TCP/IP traffic overloaded?
I have Fibre Optic backbone, and clients run on 10/100 Mbps.
Total workstations: 100+

Please advise.

Thank you.

Use performance monitor to look at your disk subsystem access. You now have two servers worth of work on one server. You should not be too surprised.

PS Netware still does stuff that NT/W2K/03 can't do.
