Does anyone know if Microsoft is still putting out security patches / Updates for Windows NT 4 Server? I know that we're so far behind in our Server OS - money constraint I guess.

We've been getting log in failures:

Logon Failure:
Reason: Unknown user name or bad password
User Name: username
Domain: YOUR-YK5CBMEEO8
Logon Type: 3
Logon Process: KSecDD
Authentication Package: MICROSOFT_AUTHENTICATION_PACKAGE_V1_0
Workstation Name: \\YOUR-YK5CBMEEO8

TIA.

Service Pack 6a is the last, but if you have IE6 SP1 AFAIK the Security Updates are available.

That doesn't look like a patch related error. Looks like the workstation lost its secure link to the server/domain.

Usual recovery method is to make the workstation a member of a workgroup [name doesn't matter], delete the machine account in User mananger of domains [or was that server manager - getting rusty on NT] and then rejoin the domain.

Golly gee wilerkers everyone. Learn to Internet Search
