I've shut down NT4 Workstation, Restart dialog is on screen...

I hit the power button on the pc, it emits 3 short beeps and restarts rather than powering off.

Anyone know what's happening?

Thanks.

Do you copy anything on the network upon shutdown? like Outlook Personal Folder synchronisation,do you have a Roaming profile?a failure to copy those files will make beeps.

a Bios 3 beep means Base 64k RAM Failure, but since it append when you were shuting down,i'm not sure it could be related.does the Wks boot ok now?if so, i would'nt worry.

Cheers!
Garreth.

hey ..
the thing is that there is something in the BIOS changed .. what you can do is when you boot up your machine .. press F8 and then you will see a couple of options there .. click on the one that says reboot as the best last time .. and i thing that it should be fine .,......
