I just backed up our old server (NT4 server SP6a), and try to install a fresh copy again.
Hardware
P3-866, 512MB PC133
Adaptec 29160N
Seagate Barrucuda 9GB U160When I am prompted for the drivers during install, I slide in the floppy with the drivers (from Adaptec site), NT4 recognised the drivers and then the next screen informed me the following :
Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.
I am kinda lost, as the same hardware were running NT4 happyly, plus I also did a Adpatec drive test under the Adpatec BIOS and the drive tested fine, if I boot from Win98 floppy, I can format and FDISK the HDD without any problem.
I have also tried the previous driver release but with same result that it cant find the 9GB HDD.
Can anyone help ? Many thanks

don't wait for the driver gui but hit f6 during the detection phase. Add the driver then. Make sure its the NT driver not the 9x/w2k/xp version.

Njs:
View the floppy directory structure on another machine. Look for where the actual drivers are stored. For instance instead of telling the NT install program to go to A:\ you may have to specify A:\WINNT or A:\WINNT\
