I have a quick question regarding updates. We have an NT Server that has been up for a few years, it is kind of old and is restarted monthly. It has SP6 installed so that part is fine. With the recent vulnerabilities Microsoft has released I we would like to update our servers but we also do not want to risk the chance of them never coming back up. What do you guys feel about the updates, should it be safe?

You should have as part of your disaster recovery plan the contigency of what to do if your servers crash or die.

Anytime you update a server there is risk. This is why you make a good tested backup and a couple of ERD's.

No reports of the security update toasting servers but then every server is unique.
