Comment: I bought an NT server from a dead .Com. I have reformated the hard drive and loaded windows 98. I want to get into the BIOS to try to fix some conflicts but the original NT system has a password. How can I clear this?

Reply: (edit)you need to take out or disconnect the battery on the motherboard, sometimes there's a switch or button to reset the cmos, but you would need the motherboard documentation to find that out.

Reply: (edit)Try the name of the bios. Or the manufacturer. Christophe Grenier has a very good site: http://www.esiea.fr/public_html/Christophe.GRENIER/cmospwd.html

Reply: (edit)go to www.ping.be/bios they will redirect you to another page) and then work out the what type of bios ya got... then www.astalavista.box.sk to get the bios craker....they got lots of stuff. good luck with it. You might need to replace the MBR and the infamous CE volume as well, as nt (and some backup progs put in hidden volumes). This is achieved with gdisk.exe (included with norton ghost)
