I got the BSoD 0x7B error with Inaccessible_Boot_Device after a server re-start. When I tried to run Set-up -- Repair it ran thru loading files from the 3 start-up floppies then it gave message "Could not locate CD-Rom" .
The set up does say it finds the Adaptex adapter card.At first I thought there was something wrong with the boot partion sector.
The machine also will not boot from the Emerency Repair Disk.I'm confused-- does this seem like a problem with the SCSI RAID adapter card? If it is bad can I just plug in another similar one from a spare machine? ; Or are there settings unique to each card?
I'm a notes developer who is trying to cover for our NT admin who quit, so I really am out of my depth here when it comes to NT administation.

The machine will never boot from the emergency repair disk (ERD.) In order to use the ERD you need to initiate the same procedure that you would be using to perform a fresh install and then select the (R)epair option after you're about 5 minutes into the install.
This procedure is explained in the user's manual that's provided with a licensed version of NT Server 4.0
If you can't find the books that your former administrator used to use, go to:
http://search.support.microsoft.com/kb/c.asp?fr=0&SD=GN&LN=EN-US
and type in whatever error messages are generated after your next attempt to restart the system.
The troubleshooters available on that web site have usually been very instructive for me.
