Can anyone explain while some of our NT users profiles get changed to user.000

where user is the usual user profile folder (on locall machine)

This happens because the profile wasn't properly deleted last time they logged out. Check to see which files weren't deleted. NT will then create a new profile directory when the next login occurs. If this one is not deleted it will continually create them:
.000 .001 .002 etc.
Not really a problem, but you can always just manually delete the old one.

Or the other explanation is, that when you have same username-account when logging to a domain and when logging in locally.
