Just run the NT setup and it will load NT into the Winnt directory. But make sure you have plenty of disk space! Also, make sure and read everything and take your time during the install process.

i have installed windows 98 (fat 32) and i want to install windows nt 4.0.
what should i do? i can't install it because it stops when i'm running the setup (the error is about formating my hd. i know that nt doesn't work with FAT32, but how can i format my hd or a partition with NTFS if i can't run the setup properly?)

If you can shrink your '98 partiton to 2Gig (using Partition Magic - current version is 5x) then convert it back to FAT16... you can then install NT into the available space...
For any '9x/NT dual boot scenario the System (active primary) partition has to be FAT16, and it must remain so...
NT will deposit its start-up files (boot.ini, ntosldr, etc.) into the FAT16 system partition, whilst allowing you to install the actual OS itself (the boot-files..) where ever you want (as suggested above - into the available space after the 2Gig system partition...)
http://www.ntfaq.com - installations section, covers all aspects of '95 and '98 with NT; particularly the FAT32 issue. Also be aware of the NT and large HD issues; John Savill deals with these in detail in the installations section...
Essentially, if you cannot 'shrink' the FAT32 to 2Gig (or less) and convert back to FAT16, then you have to back-up critical data, Fdisk/reformat etc. to create a suitable sized FAT16 system partition.
I'd advise that if you do have to Fdisk etc., that you create a C: system partition of around 100-250Meg; at the least make it bootable from DOS (transfer system files - either via a DOS 6.22 boot disk, or the '98 version off its boot disk); then install '98 into a separate partition in the extended area, and then NT likewise.
