Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the NT logon.
The OS is installed on one machine only at home, so logging on every time I start it seems a bit pointless

Hi,
This is the way you can do auto login in win nt.
Set the following values in the registry

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AutoAdminLogon= 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\DefaultUserName=username

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\DefaultPassword = password

Regards,
Ashish

One of my friend's has forgotten her Windows NT password to her desktop PC.
Is there any way, she can retrieve / reset her password?

Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

That would depend whether or not the machine is a stand-alone unit, or part of a network.
If you find out the details I'll see what I can come up with
