Subject: NT installing audio drivers?
Comment:

i recently installed NT4 Workstation including SP6a on my P166 / 48 MB RAM. Then i wanted to install the drivers for my ESS 1888 onboard sound chip, so i downloaded NT drivers.
i went to the control panel / multimedia option, selected add and typed in the path where i saved the drivers (.dll, .sys, .ini, .inf, ..., files). Then I was asked to select an I/O, i choosed 220 (NT diagnostics showed that this I/O is free). But after clicking on continue, I just heared a beep, without "continue" actually.
Now my question is if there's anybody who can help me with this problem, I just can't get the ESS drivers installed.
Thank you for your help!

Vic

hello
ton install a sound card in Nt is so diffrent then win9x or Me
so when u have change the driver in control panel .... multimedia ...périferals
here try to select add , in the list choose pilote not listed or udate and clic ok to load your driver
when u'ill finich u'ill have a dialogue box which will tel u if u want to restart so here clic no
and go to your windows explorer and try to find the exécution off your ess1888 under windows
tray to make an installation from the exe path of the ESS 1888
after this try to restart your computer
;)
