Good Morning...
This is the first time I have tried to set up a network...I'm learning, and screwing up...but that's ok...

I'm setting up a home network as follows...
NT Server installed ok...recognizes NIC ok
NT Workstation works ok...NIC ok...
I plugged the two machines together with a crossover cable...
NT Server...IP 100.100.100.1
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Workstation IP 100.100.100.2
Subnet 255.255.255.0
Set up a domain name on server named "home"
Set up a user in the server...
With server up and running, the workstation can't find the domain to log on to...
What am I doing wrong???
Thanx for help Steve

First off, Can you ping the server and vice versa...using the computer name as well as the IP address.

http://www.wown.com aka http://www.helmig.com

will be useful 'learning' resource/tutorial for you to visit...

It cover most flavours of simple (and not so...) networks

Initially use NetBeui to get thing going; simplest to use, least demanding, fewest problems... and Helmig recommneds it for SoHo scenarios. And usually if a LAN won't work under NetBeui it's not likely to under TCP/IP.

Need more help/resources, please to come back?

Good luck,

LM-S
