I replaced \winnt\systems32\url.dll...it didn't work and now the machine won't even boot up, saying it has a possibly corrupt url.dll file.
How can I put back the original if it won't even boot up?
I tried the install CD (repairing Windows NT option) but it never gave the option of replacing that file with the original.
Thanks.

win nt rescue procedure:
requires:
1. 3 boot floppies created during install
2. emergency repair disk (ERD)**
3. win nt wkstn cd**hopefully u created this on the machine that has died. it can be created from another NT machine, but there is no garuntee it will work
how to:
1. boot from disk 1 (set up boot disk)
2. insert disk 2
3. menu appears, choose 3rd option by pressing R for repair
4. press enter at next screen
5. press enter to detect mass storage devices
6. insert disk 3 when prompted
7. enter if u have no more mass storage devices to detect
8. enter if you have an ERD
9. insert ERD, press enter
10. enter to continue
11. press A to repair all files (a yellow progress bar will appear)
12. remove all disks when told and rebootthis should help u out somewhat, i hope
good luck
