NT Defaults to Sharing Drive

I am using a Gateway PII 400mhz running NT4.0 w/service pack five. I can't seem to disable the default of my drives partitions (C,D,and E) being shared. As administrator I can turn off sharing, but if I select as the default NOT to share, it still shares when rebooting.
Is there anyway that I can disable my drives from being shared. I am on a network and need the privacy.

NT by default sets up administrative shares - C$, D$ etc. These are not normal shares and cannot be seen over the network, and need administrative password for connecting over network. Do not worry about it as long as u dont have shares as C , D, etc. Incidentally if u want a hidden share of a particular directory, add a $ to the share name, and it cannot be seen over the network, but can be accessed if u type in the actual share name and the password assigned.

Hello, Are you the administrator of this machine? If you are then Windows NT will always show you your disk drives as shared. These are the $ shares used for system's internal purposes(Your drives will not be shared in the network though)
If this is not the case and the drive is shared in network then maybe someone deleted the $ share.you can try this : go to sharing option and share your drive as c$.maybe this works.Good luck.
