I have inherited a computer that won't boot. It has NT on it and I know this because when I try to boot, it says that it has found only 511K of low memory and needs 512K of low memory to run. I know next to nothing about NT and don't have any type of restore CD or backup. Can someone please help me?

Maybe it is best to wipe the hard drive and start afresh !! I am not convinced it is NT4....................

Grab a W98SE OEM Boot Disk from http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

Download to floppy the DOS version of http://www.hwinfo.com

The above two disks should be able to give you an insight into what you have on the PC!
