NT & Win 98

I have dual boot w/NT 4 & Win 98 with 4 Partitions (C,D,E,F). C is boot (150 MB); D is NTFS; E is FAT; and F is FAT32 with Win 98 on it. I loaded Win 98 first, then NT on D:. Everything is fine until I try to format E to NTFS...then Win 98 can't see this and it thinks it is on E instead of F and will not boot. If I format back to FAT everybody is happy. Anyway to have it as NTFS and force Win 98 to use F: at startup?
NT can not read Fat32 as Windows 95/98 cant read NTFS, one solution would be to use NTFS as your drive D: and Fat32 as F: then the other drives format as FAT and use for application data and file sharing between the two OS's. The other option might be to upgrade to Windows 2000 which sees both Fat32 and NTFS. I ran into this problem earlier when I had data on a drive that I ran windows 98 on, so I created a FAT partition large enough to store the data I wanted to keep and booted to it with a win98 command prompt and copied all of the data I wanted to save to that partition then formatted the former win98 drive to NTFS, I'd suggest choose one OS over the other depending on your needs.
