I need to connect usb only interface printer to My nt workstation. I need to convert from parallel to USB or use a print server attached to the parallel/serial com1 port that will have a usb out.
Where is ther such a device???

Or is NT 4.0 dead? there seem no one developing new equipment that has the old interfaces that NT can use. It all seems to be going USB.

Yes, there is a convertor you can get. Parallel to USB. But it will cost you as much as the printer. So go buy a printer with parallel port.

NT 4.0 does NOT support USB no matter how you try to shove it in! They make parallel to USB cable converters, but not the reverse. Update the operating system.

As the printer is only USB there won't be any NT4 drivers anyway! This can be a real pain if you have a USB printer on a Win2k workstation and want to print from an NT4 workstation, you can't as there won't be NT4 drivers.

Can you let me have the information about the converter, I need to use the printer I have.

As to those who seem stuck by the driver issue, I would say that there are often different versions of drivers for the same class or older printers that work perfectly well with the later USB only printers.

Hp laserjet series II driver, will power meny of the hp range that followed it onto the market place, is a prime example so I am certainly not daunted by this problem.

To those who say upgrade to new O/s, this is not an option due to old legacy cad/cam program.
