When i try to install NT 4.0 I get a "file setupdd.sys could not be loaded" error code 4
Can anyone tell me what I can do to rectify this problem or why I'm getting this error?

I am getting variants on this error when installing Windows2000 Pro on a PII 3550. This is the latest version of the error which has beeen BSODs up 'til now. I think all are related to how the harddisk is detected in the BIOS (Heads, cylinders etc...), the CDROM and possibly the memory. This machine has already had WinNT4 Workstation, Server and Win2K Server running fine. I am resinatlling it for a new user. I removed a second hard disk and replaced the 64 MB DIMM with a new 128MB DIMM and am now getting this error in setup. I am going to ignore the possibility of a memory issue and press ahead with configuring the cdrom and hard drive properly.

With Hard Disk set to USER defined in BIOS and CDROM on Auto... (although that wasn't so much the problem)
Boot with Windows98 Boot Disk. FDISK and Formatted using FAT32. Reboot and now let setup run WITHOUT reformatting the drive (leave current file system intact). Worked fine....
