Does anyone know where I can download a disk set for WinNT 3.1, and / or WinNT 3.51? Does anyone have a disk set, and can you email it to me? I kinda want to try them out on my system to see how they work, before I get them at eBay :-D
Thanks
Dylan L

I've owned and used both NT 3.1 and NT 3.51.
I don't profess to be an expert on either one, since I did not like their features or performance. The problem I had with 3.1 was that it was very hard to find device drivers. Lots of stuff that worked just fine with Windows 3.1 did not work with NT 3.1.
Then the problem that I had with NT 3.51 was that I needed what's called a "HAL" to get it to work with mu dual processor. The HAL is, unfortunately, Bios specific, and the company that had manufactured my Symmetrical Multiprocessor (SMP) machine went out of business.
For my purposes, you would be making a mistake to buy either one, ESPECIALLY because of issues with hardware compatibiltiy. I rate either one C- !
Who's gonna give you support, if you get stuck with an OS, and no applications that do anything useful? Don't come to me, I can absolutely guarantee that I will ignore you.

hey why win 3.51nt when you can have windows 95 on disk downloaded from the internet for free on this forum
