i have no sound on my system,checked allthe cables they are ok
Gone to Control Panel / Multimedia and the audio prefered device is greyed out and cannot figure out why

Assuming do you have a Sound Card, have you tried reinstalling the drivers?

Have you checked the 'divice manager'? If there's a problem with the sound divice or drivers it should show up there.
