I have several computers for use mostly on internet with home networking on dsl. Have never had experience with conventional network servers or windows nt. I have a windows nt workstation cd with sp5 cd and flopy set for 1-2cpu. Are there any disadvantages of installing this on one of the computers just to play around with and learn about windows nt and would I be able to brouse the web without going through a server and use it like any other windows operating system. On the other computers, I use windowsxp, w98, 98se. What does the 1-2 cpu mean on the three disk floppy drive set?

Some motherboards can support two CPU's and NT4 Workstation can support two CPU's. Ya, NT4 can be used like any other MS OS, although sometimes modem drivers can be a problem. You are in for a treat in that NT4 actually has a decent help system and good drive management tools.

Thanks Best, I thought I had read somewhere that I would not be able to use it on internet without a server. So are you saying not true and no disadvantages compared to other operating systems except the modem driver problem. That shouldn,t generally be a problem for Me unless it would affect dsl as well as dial-up modems.
