Hi!

plz forgive my spelling

I little prob:

In my boot.ini I have the following entry:
Timeout=15

In Controlpanel - System I can change the startup time to something else.

But when I boot my machine it does not count down.
It just waits for me to make a selection at the bootup menu...and it wais...and it wais...forever :)

Installed NT on an other machine and it behaves as it should.

Very grateful for any idees!

The behavior you describe makes me thing about a registry key that I once read about. This registry key, which value you can set to –1, makes the system wait indefinitely for user input before booting NT as you described. Unfortunately I don’t remember which one it was. My suggestion is that you search through the Internet or the Microsoft Knowledgebase and I think that you will be able to find it.

Don’t even think about changing anything in the registry –or in any way tamper with it- unless you are 100% absolutely sure about what you are doing or you might end up with a useless system. -But I guess you knew about that already:-)
