How can I tell if my NIC is running at 10 or 100. You can't tell by lights on the card or switch, properties in NT and the software on the switch both say speed is AUTO?

If the cable, hub, switch and card are all capable of running at 100 Mbps then they will run at 100. But if your hub is only 10 Mbps then that is the speed your network is running. A 10/100 card means it can run at either speed depending on the rest of your equipment. The same with Cat5 cable - it is capable of up to 100 Mbps but only if the rest of the equipment supports it.
