New NT4.0 install locks up at login

I recently installed Windows NT 4.0 onto a TAG server for use as a stand alone server on my network. The install went fine, but when I try to log in to it to finish setting it up it locks up. Can anyone please help me with this, I am out of ideas?

Perhaps drivers; RAM issues?

Any activity on the screen prior to the hang?

It starts to come up, it loads to the point of showing the start button, but then freezes at that point. I did get it to boot all the way up using NT 4.0 workstation.

See if a repair installation - in effect re-install it over itself - resolves it for you? Do this from the usual CD or floppies + CD boot.
